Together.
ellO gallery & shop will be welcoming in spring by showing work from a pair of local artists, Ty Williams & his mother Wendy Williams for the next exhibition, "Together". After spending another long winter in New England, ty is trying to bring the brightness of spring out through his work. Having just show at Montanaro Gallery in Newport Rhode Island, ty is experimenting with a more graphic quality, and has been listening to a lot of Hall & Oates. During the 60s Wendy spent time studing art and film in London. Her motto has always been, 'if i need it, i make it". This is how she designed houses with her husband in the Virgin Islands through the 1980s. Now her time is divided between florida and Runaway farm in South Brewick, Maine. Ty describes his mother's work as Paul Simion-Graceland. Paintings from both artists will be on display from May 6 to May 8. Join us for the opening reception of "Together" on May 9 from 5 to 9 pm with live music from the Gilded Moons & Boy without God.

Reception: Friday, May 9th, 5-8pm.

Shiao-Ping Wang: New Paintings.
Three Graces is pleased to exhibit recent works by Shiao-Ping Wang. As explained in her artist statement, "I am most interested in growth and change when I make art. I find patterns fascinating: when a few shapes accumulate in large numbers the appearance and energy of the image becomes wholly different."
Wang was born in Taiwan and immigrated to the United States in 1981. She studied both Western art and Chinese art in New York and earned a MFA degree from Queens College, City University of New York. Her work has been exhibited throughout the US and China. She has taught painting and drawing in various colleges including the University of New Hampshire. In 2007 Shiao-Ping won a Fellowship at Vermont Studio Center. The gallery will also be featuring sculpture by Melissa Turner. "Mine are varied ideas involving abstraction and identification. I wonder how things can be distilled, in a way, or brought to their most basic, even minimal, form while remaining intimately and evocatively identifiable, not so much as objects, but as visceral images, recognizable in all of nature." Turner earned a MFA degree from Cranbrook Academy of Art in MI and has taught at Mass Art and most recently Sanctuary Arts in Eliot.

Reception: Friday, May 9th, 5-8pm.
